Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue team cover the whole of Berkshire, we are highly trained searchers who assist Thames Valley Police in the search for High Risk Vulnerable Missing Persons such as young children, despondent persons or those living with dementia. We can provide highly trained foot searchers, search planners and Search Managers as well as all the equipment needed to manage a large-scale search including a control vehicle, water and drone teams, computerised mapping, radio communications, medical equipment & scene lighting.
Our costs are numerous, including insurance, maintenance, fuel, equipment and medical supplies, etc etc. for example…
- 1 search drone costs £5000
- 1 automated external defibrillator (AED) £1700
- 1 digital communications radio £500
- 1 tank of fuel for just one of our vehicles costs £140.

3. LOTTERY: West Berkshire Lottery is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in West Berkshire including Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue. Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 a week. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each week, with a top prize of £25,000! By nominating Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue 50p of every £1 ticket is donated to us.

URGENT HELP NEEDED:
We also need to find a new base in the Central/East Berks area. Ideally this would be somewhere where we could securely store our 4 vehicles and equipment and that can hold 30-40 people for the occasional indoor meeting, plus with a small office area.
